Missing Christmas by Kate Clayborn – if you enjoyed the friends to lovers trope, try this holiday story.A Christmas Spark by Cindy Steel – this is an enemies to lovers story but if you enjoyed the shorter length as well as the history between the main characters, try this novella.I don’t normally love the friends to lovers trope but I thought it was so cute here. If you follow me on Goodreads, you know that basically all I’ve been reading for days is holiday themed stories. So, Cassie Cross, if you want to write another story of a couple who gets snowed in here, I’d read it. ART TO HEART - Ho Ho Ho Let It Snow (2013) with patterns for quilting and applique by Nancy Halvorsen. And, I’d be interested if there was spin-off set in the same motel and same small town. However, I liked the writing style so I’d read more of Cassie Cross’s works. Since it was a novella, we didn’t meet too many characters so there aren’t many opportunities for spin-offs or additional stories. The story feels complete and I’m happy with it. I thought this was the perfect length to capture this story and it was a super fast read. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I could easily see a spin off set in that town. Let it Snow is a standalone steamy regency novella previously published in. I also loved the town where Amy and Josh got snowed in. I love a good road trip and I loved the reasons for the stops. ![]() Amy’s monologues didn’t annoy me at all (which is my usual problem with friends to lovers). It’s usually just anxiety and awkwardness and I’m here for witty banter and sass. Normally, I don’t go for friends to lovers as a trope. I think I saw it on my Kindle’s suggestions of books I’d like. I was excited to stumble upon this quick read. They decide to wait out the storm in the charming town of Holly Hill, where a little holiday magic and a lot of snow combine to help Josh and Amy realize that the something that’s always simmered between them could easily become something more… One surprise Josh hasn’t planned on is the record-breaking blizzard heading their way. When Josh asks her to accompany him on his road trip from Texas to Connecticut and offers to pay for her plane ticket back home, how could Amy say no? He’s promised some fun surprises on the trip, and more time with him could never be a bad thing.
